A Legacy of Growth and Excellence Since 1959
Goel Roadways was founded in 1959 as a logistics company focused on transporting goods from Kolkata to various parts of India.
Transportation of machines for first factory of Vardhaman textiles in the year 1965 which was a stepping stone for us into textile transportation and now we are one of the largest carriers for textile companies.
Our first major milestone came in 1976, when we pioneered the containerized movement of white goods for Philips Corporation. This initiative allowed us to stand out from our competitors and solidify our reputation in the logistics market.
By the mid-1980s, Goel Roadways diversified into the steel scrap trade. This shift not only expanded our operational scope but also gave us the financial backbone to venture into other sectors.
We secured a deal with Pashupati Acrylic, where we specialized in the transport of chemicals using custom-built tankers. This partnership enabled us to further diversify our offerings in the logistics sector, making us one of the early movers in chemical transportation in India.
We entered the industrial setup space, landing a contract to set up India’s largest fertilizer factory for Oswals Chemical Ltd. This project was a defining moment for us, as it required handling logistics and setup for a large-scale industrial project.
We moved into real estate development, launching RGA Software to develop Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Bangalore. This marked a significant expansion from logistics to real estate, signalling our growing ambitions as a diversified business.
Beginning of Goel Roadways geographical expansion outside India. Started off with Custom Clearance, Logistics and Import / Export work starting with Nepal followed by Bangladesh in 2004, Bhutan in 2017 and Pakistan in 2018.
In 2002 ventured out into liquor transportation for Bacardi India Private Limited and as of 2025 we are working with close to 80% of liquor manufacturers in India and provide them single window clearance for finished goods, spirit, malt and dry goods transportation
Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. manages total logistics, customs clearance, and port handling for captive power plants at Raigarh and Angul, involving 1.5 lakh tons of ODC and OWC cargo from Visakhapatnam and Gangavaram ports.
The Reliance Sasan Power Project, an Ultra Mega Project, features a 6x660 MW BTG plant with 7 lakh tons of equipment, managed by extensive logistics across India.
We launched Ruby Logistics Services in Talcher (Orissa) moving 16,000 tonnes daily through 350+ dumpers. This strategic expansion enhanced our capabilities, boosting our presence in industrial and logistical sectors, and positioning us as a key player in India’s coal transport industry.
